ugandan recycled paper bead jewellery...

Hand crafted by groups of Ugandan women - financed by micro enterprise grants through the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada, these items make a uniques purchase or gift. Each item sold provides alternatives to the primary stakeholders in our fight to save the remaining wild chimpanzee populations in Africa.

economic alternatives for a sustainable future

The Jane Goodall Institute's community-centred conservation (CCC) approach includes programs which aim to reduce the threats to chimpanzees and their habitats in Equitorial Africa. They empower local communities with the tools needed to manage their natural resources for long-term economic gain and environmental prosperity.

The Jane Goodall Insitute believes that sustainability begins with the collaboration of true stakeholders - hunters, farmers and fisherman. The Insitute's micro-enterprise programs in cooperation with local govrnments and industries present economic alternatives to those who formerly supported their families through poaching, deforestation and over harvesting of natural resources.
